An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a full-time band 5 Chemotherapy Nurse to work within the Chemotherapy unit at Dorset County Hospital. The unit cares for patients who have cancer and haematological disease and delivers a wide range of treatments within the hospital setting. The opening of the new radiotherapy unit at Dorset County Hospital will enable further improvements of the chemotherapy unit for patients.
Applicants will have recent acute hospital nursing experience as well as a keen interest in cancer and haematology. Previous experience with chemotherapy is not necessary as full training will be provided. You will be required to carry out procedures on patients such as chemotherapy administration, cannulation, venepuncture and care of central lines. The service is hospital based at present but there are plans to provide home based chemotherapy services in the future.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
